This evening at 14.55pm the BFRRS emergency paging system was activated requesting the teams assistance in a report of a object floating matching a description of a inflated lifejacket in the river Boyne at Premier Power glaze.
We immediately launched our inshore rescue boat and crew to the location of the incident.
On arrival of the crew the team undertook a search of the area and located what was thought to be a life jacket but infact was a sky lantern which was floating on the water.
The crews returned to base refilled,washed down and restaged equipment awaiting the next call out.
