Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 13:41pm this afternoon.
Crews paged to reports of a leisure craft requiring assistance off the coast of Balbriggan.
Futher information received was the leisure craft with POB (persons on board) was experiencing engine issues and was unable to proceed under there own steam.
Due to a number of factors ,the decision was made to launch our Jordan 2 vessel with 3 crew on board.
Launching luckily on the High tide the Jordan 2 made its way swiftly from our boathouse,crossing the bar in a matter of minutes on route to assist the casualty vessel.
After a short travel along the coast line crew made contact and located the vessel to access the situation.
It was agreed to tow the vessel back to bettystown area where the boat had launched from previously.
Our mobile 1 unit and crew met the craft on arrival to the extraction point where it was taken out for repair.
Crews returned to base, restaged and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
