Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 11:58am yesterday (Tuesday).
 
Call recieved requesting assistance at the Boyne Cable bridge,where a person had entered.
 
The emergency pager crews mustered with the immediate launch of our inshore rescue boat.
 
With the spring high tides the inshore rescue boat swiftly made its way up river and navigated it way through the canel up river to the Boyne Cable Bridge.
 
Our mobile 1 unit had also been mobilized to the scene crewed with rescue swimmers ,ready on arrival for a swift entry to assist.The jeep also provides additional equipment and a communications hub for incident scenes.
 
A swift search of the area was conducted by both land and our inshore rescue boat crews,With the successful location of the person.
 
Crews extracted the casualty through rough terrain and bog land with the assistance of Drogheda Gardai.
 
Casualty transferred to our inshore rescue boat which transported straight to the Boyne Fishermens Rescue Slipway at the Boathouse on the Marsh Road.
 
Crews then transferred the casualty to our medical room to where The National Ambulance Service awaited.
 
Unfortunately due to the incident we wish to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
 
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
