This afternoon shortly before 15.30hrs the emergency paging system for the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service was activated.
The request was for a inshore rescue boat to launch to conduct a search of the river after a male had been seen acting suspicious around Fiddler Case Pier in Drogheda.
The male in question had been at the waters edge for some time and his behavior was classed eerie.
Crews conducted a search of the area and a short time later a male matching the description was located.
Crews were stood down and returned to base to wash,restage and fuel the equipment
