Call-out 17/10/2021 30/21 * Person reported in the water*
Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 01.21am this morning.
Assistance was requested following reports of a person after entering the water at the old bridge in Drogheda.
Due to quality of information received it was decided to dispatch multiple crews to 2 high profile locations within the Drogheda Boundaries.
Crews quickly mustered at our boathouse dispatching our inshore rescue boat which made its way up river to the obelisk bridge / old bridge area.
Our mobile 3 unit and land crew were also dispatched to the area to conduct a shore search.
Meanwhile our mobile 1 unit and a land search team were directed to another area of interest to conduct a search.
Shortly before 02.00am a stand down was given and the call was deemed a hoax.
Also on scene National Ambulance Service ,Drogheda Gardai and Drogheda Coast Guard Unit
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
