* Person In Distress*
Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 11:49am this morning.
Crews paged to the reports of a person in distress on St Marys bridge in Drogheda. It was feared the person may enter water.
Luckily for a second time in 24 hours our inshore rescue boat was nearby and quickly diverted to the incident arriving in under 1 min .
A team from our on scene crew arrived swiftly and luckily members of the public had engaged with person to prevent entry.
A crew trained In suicide prevention managed to maintain a stable situation, prevent an entry and safely managed to exit the bridge with the casualty.
The casualty was handed over to Drogheda Gardai who arrived swiftly on scene.
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
