Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 17:39pm Monday (6th June ) evening.
 
Crews paged to assist with land searches in the Drogheda area for a local missing male.
 
Crews mustered at the boathouse where a brief was given of the situation and description of areas of interest.
 
Throughout the week multiple crews searched numerous areas such as fields ,walkways ,Unused buildings , woodland and drainage ditches within the area.
 
Unfortunately shortly before night fall yesterday evening (Friday 10th ) crews searching a location on the ballymakenny Road made a discovery of a body.
 
Drogheda Gardai and the National Ambulance Service where notified of the situation and arrived on scene.
 
A short time later P Townleys Funeral Directors arrived on scene,with combined efforts from Drogheda Gardai , National Ambulance Service and BFRRS crews the casualty was extracted from the area and handed over.
 
The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service wish to extend their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
 
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
