Boyne Fishermen's Rescue emergency paging system activated at 15:20pm yesterday afternoon.
Call recieved requesting assistance in the upper mell area ,where two people had reported to be in difficulty on a boat.
Our inshore rescue boat was launched within seconds of the call ending as our crew had been on station duty for our weekly bingo event.
The inshore rescue boat swiftly made its way up river to the scene followed by our mobile 1 unit.
On arrival crew located a individual on the river bank , following a short conversation the incident was deemed to be a call with good intentions.
Crews returned to base to wash ,restage and sanitize equipment in the event of another tasking.
