Call-out 03/06/2020 26/20

Last night shortly before 10.23hrs the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated to the reports of a person after entering the river Boyne from the Bridge of Peace area.

We immediately dispatched our inshore rescue boat and mobile units to the location.

A search of the area was conducted both on land and on water with nothing to report.

The under water search unit was requested and arrived on scene within a short period of time to conduct dive operations.

The river was made sterile and an exclusion zone enforced from 12.30 am meaning no unauthorized craft allowed in the area ,this allowed dive operations to commence safely and for safety of crew.

Throughout the night various dives ,search techniques ,patterns and including a search net had been used. A dive at the low water mark was undertaken at 4.30 am with no result.

Shortly before 05.00am the unit was stood down pending further information.

Crews were stood down returning to base to wash, restage and fuel the equipment.

On scene also Drogheda Gardai , National Ambulance Service , Louth Fire and Rescue , Rescue 116 , Drogheda Coast Guard unit
