Incident21/07/16 - Person attempting to enter the water - 018/16

At 15:48 hrs today (Thursday 21th) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency pagers were activated reporting a male may be attempting to enter the river Boyne at the bridge of Peace in Drogheda.
Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road and within minutes an inshore rescue boat was launched and on scene.
On arrival the boat crew joined by land teams where notified that the male had been successfully prevented from entering the water by a member of the public.
All units were stood down at 16:05 hrs and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
