Incident 27/06/17 Persons Attempting to enter the water 07/17
At 21:34 hrs this evening (Tuesday 27th June) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency pagers were activated reporting a male on the river side of the railings on the Haymarket bridge in Drogheda.
Our team quickly assembled and within minutes a member of the on scene crew trained in Swift Water Rescue had arrived and approached the male on the railings, in the event of the casualty entering the water additional team members where setting up a swimmer from the bank while awaiting the arrival of the inshore rescue boat .
After a short period of time from combined efforts of rescue personnel and Drogheda Gardai the male was successfully removed from the railings.
All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
