Incident 25/03/18 Car Entered River Boyne 05/18
At 00.01 hrs this morning ( Sunday 25th March) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated to the reports of a car after entering the river Boyne from the Curly Hole area just outside of Drogheda.
Immediately we had dispatched 2 mobile units carrying tender rescue equipment and Swiftwater rescue personnel.
While crews where on route they where joined by our dive unit which was also mobilized to incident.
In a lucky outcome as crews where on route they were stood down as we were informed that the car didn't manage to enter the water and the occupants got out safe.
All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out
