At 00.45 hrs this morning(Wednesday) the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service received a call from a member of the public requesting our help on Bettystown Beach.
Immediately a mobile unit from the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service was mobilized to the incident to assist.
On arrival the crew were directed to a car containing people which had got into difficultly in soft sand and the tide was rising.
Our crew towed the car from the soft sand on the beach to the nearby road, where crew members pointed out the dangers of driving on the beach in the soft sand and past the no driving sign.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service units then returned to the Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
