Incident 22/01/15 - Vehicle in Water 003/15

<p>The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue & Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated last night ( Thursday 21 January ) at 23.44 hrs. The call reported a vehicle that had over turned and landed in a drainage ditch in approximately 6 ft of water outside of Dunleer Co.Louth.</p> <p> </p> <p>We immediately dispatched a mobile unit containing members trained in Swiftwater Rescue and Emergency First Aid to the scene.</p> <div> <p> </p> <p>Meanwhile our underwater search team had been alerted and were on route to the incident.</p> <p> </p> <p>As the first crew members arrived on scene, the occupants had being assisted from the vehicle by a members of the emergency services but it was still not sure if there was any additional occupants left in the vehicle.</p> <p> </p> <p>Members from the underwater search unit where deployed to check the vehicle for any additional persons,luckily all persons involved had gotten out safely.</p> <p> </p> <p>Our units returned to our Marsh Road Base, at 01.20 hrs, cleaned and re staged our equipment to have it ready for the next call out.</p> <p> </p> <p>Again, teamwork and co-operation from all emergency services present ensured a fast and efficient response to the incident.</p> <p> </p> <p>On scene at last nights incident along side the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service were Dunleer Gardai, Clogherhead Coast Guard,National Ambulance Service and Drogheda & Dunleer Fire & Rescue Service.</p> <p> </p> </div>
