Incident 21/2/16 -Person in Distress- 06/16

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service received a call out at 01.54 hrs early this morning (Sunday 21 February).
 
A call came in reporting a male in a distressed state that may be attempting to enter the river Boyne from the Fishmeal Factory / maiden’s tower area in Mornington just outside of Drogheda.
 
Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road Drogheda, Multiple mobile units and two inshore rescue boats were dispatched.
 
Mobile units and land crew from the B.F.R.R.S. which were on scene had proceeded with a land search along the river Boyne.
 
The two inshore rescue boats commenced search operations from the Fishmeal Factory down to the bar at the mouth of the river Boyne.
 
After a significant search of the area had been undertaken the crews were stood down with nothing to report.
 
On scene at today’s incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were Laytown Gardai.
 
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service units returned to their Marsh Road Base at 03.15 hrs cleaned and re-staged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
