Incident 2/1/16 -Body Recovered - 02/16
At 16.20 hrs this evening Saturday (2 January) the emergency paging system for the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service was activated reporting a body floating in the river Boyne in Navan Co. Meath.
Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road Drogheda, Multiple mobile units and an inshore rescue boat was dispatched to the scene.
On arrival of the boat crew they were directed by Navan Gardai who had located a body near the river bank and needed assistance in retrieving it from the water. The body was then taken to Navan Hospital for a Post-mortem.
On scene at today’s incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were Navan Gardai and The Meath River Rescue.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service units returned to their Marsh Road Base, cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
