Incident 19/1/16 -Person in Distress- 04/16

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service received a call out at 21.04 hrs last night (Tuesday 19 January).
A call came in reporting a missing female in a distressed state that may be attempting to enter the river Boyne from the unknown location in Drogheda.
Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road Drogheda, Multiple mobile units and two inshore rescue boats were dispatched.
Mobile units from the B.F.R.R.S. had been deployed to check local areas of access to the river Boyne and river side walkways.
The first inshore rescue boat commenced search operations from the Premier power glaze to the Scotch Hall area, while the second inshore rescue boat searched up river from Scotch Hall to the Boyne cable bridge.
The crews were stood down then with the locating of the missing female.
On scene at today’s incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were Drogheda Gardai.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service units returned to their Marsh Road Base at 00.45 hrs cleaned and re-staged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
