Incident 19/03/18 Possible Person in the water 03/18

At 04.20hrs this morning ( Monday 19th March) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated to the reports of a possible person had entered the water from the sea at Laytown Beach Co.Meath.

Immediately we dispatched 1 mobile unit with a Swift water rescue team and a 2nd mobile unit with our tender rescue equipment.

As crews arrived on scene they were informed that gardai had managed to obtain the casualty and handed them over to the awaiting National Ambulance Service crew.

While this was going on we also had a inshore rescue boat on standby for the river Boyne in Drogheda in the event of call.

On this morning's call we were also joined by Laytown Gardai,National Ambulance Service and Irish Coast Guard.

All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out
