Incident 14/08/18 Persons Reported in the Water 12/18

At 02.11am ( Tuesday 14th August ) the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated to the reports of a person after entering the river Boyne from the Bru area.

Immediately we had dispatched various crews including our inshore rescue boat crew ,Mobile units and Scene crews to the location of the incident.

On arrival of the land crew they observed a male been rescued via lifering from the swift actions and fast thinking of Gardai and members of the public on scene.Our inshore rescue boat and crew was on scene also.

A member of the on scene crew then checked the casualty over and then handed over the National Ambulance Service.

Also on scene Drogheda Gardai and the National Ambulance Service.

All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out
