Incident 12/1/16 -Person Reported in the water - 03/16

The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service received a call out at 00.44 hrs early this morning (Tuesday 12 January).
A call came in reporting a male in a distressed state may have entered the river Boyne from the Viaduct Bridge in Drogheda.
The Emergency paging system was activated and our team quickly assembled at the Marsh Road Base.
Our inshore Rescue Boat was launched from our Boathouse on the Marsh RD, while our mobile units and crews were dispatched directly to the scene.
On arrival of the boat crew a Significant search of the area was undertaken with nothing to report, while the inshore rescue was on scene we were notified that the male didn’t entered the water.
All units were stood down at 01:48 hrs, after cleaning and re-staging the equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
On scene at todays incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were The Drogheda Gardai.
