Incident 12/08/16 - Person reported in the water - 019/16
At 22:53 hrs tonight (Friday 12th) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency pagers were activated reporting a male had entered the water at the Dominic Street Bridge in Drogheda.
Our inshore Rescue Boat and crew launched from our Boathouse on the Marsh RD, while our mobile units and crews were dispatched directly to the scene.
Rescue members who were nearby at the time arrived on scene within 2 minutes of the pager activating met with Drogheda Gardai and members of the National Ambulance Service who informed them the male had been prevented from entering the water and was safe.
All units were stood down at 23:05 hrs and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
On scene at today’s incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were Drogheda Gardai, National Ambulance Service and Drogheda Coast Guard unit.
