Incident 12/07/15 - Person attempting to enter the water - 016/15

At 02:19 hrs early this morning (Sunday 15 July) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency pagers were activated reporting a male attempting to enter the river at a unknown location.


Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road and a inshore rescue boat was immediately launched from our Boathouse, while our mobile units and crew where dispatched.


The boat and land crews commenced a significant search of the river Boyne and the male was located successfully  and managed to persuade the man from entering into the river.


The causality was then handed over to the Drogheda Gardai.


All units were stood down at 03:20 hrs and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
