Incident 07/03/18 Possible Person Entering the River Boyne 02/18

Shortly after 09.35hrs this morning ( Wednesday 7th March) The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service emergency paging system was activated to the reports of a possible person heading to enter the river Boyne from the Scotch Hall / North Quay area of Drogheda.</p> <p>Within minutes a mobile unit and crew that was in the area arrived on scene and commenced search operations.</p> <div> <p>They were then joined by an addiontal mobile unit crew and an inshore rescue boat who undertook searches of the river Boyne.We were also joined by Drogheda Coast guard.</p> <p>After a short period of time searching, Drogheda Coast Guard unit boat located and recovered a casualty into the boat and commenced CPR.</p> <p>On arrival back to horse lane they where joined by members of the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and the National Ambulance Service where CPR was continued and the casualty was transferred to hospital.</p> <p>In a sad outcome members of the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service wish to extend their deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.</p> <p>All units were stood down and returned to their Marsh Road Base where they Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out</p> </div></p>
