Incident 03/01/15 - Person in Distress 001/15
At 07.18 hrs this morning the emergency paging system for the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service was activated reporting a female in a distressed state at Horse Lane in Drogheda.It was feared that the female may attempt to enter the water.
Our team quickly assembled at the boathouse on the Marsh Road and a mobile unit and inshore rescue boat was immediately dispatched to the scene.
On arrival the boat and land crew undertook a signicant search of the area along side Drogheda Coast Guard unit.
After a short time searching a female in a distressed state, extremely cold and wet with possible hyperthermia was located . First aid was given on scene and the female was transferred to an awaiting NAS Ambulance.
On scene at todays incident along with the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service were The Drogheda Coast Guard,Drogheda Gardai and The National Ambulance Service.
The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service units returned to their Marsh Road Base.Cleaned and restaged their equipment to have it ready for the next call out.
