Emergency Callout 17/9/19 21/19

Today at 11.52hrs the BFRRS emergency paging system was activated to the reports of 2 dogs on the river beds at Mornington section of the river Boyne just outside of Drogheda.

It was feared the dogs owner had injured themselves or got cut off by the tide whilest out with the dogs.

Within minutes of the call our inshore rescue boat had been launched from the boathouse and was on route to the location.

Crews members searched the land and water area surrounding the location and found the 2 dogs but no owner,a short time later the dogs ran off to a nearby house on the road.

All units were then stood down and returned to our base on the Marsh Road to clean and restage equipment, Ready for next call.
