Emergency call out 1/07/19 17/19

This evening at 21:34hrs the BFRRS were alerted to a CFR (Cardiac First Responders) call to a male in cardiac arrest along the walkway by the river at Mell.

A member of the public had CPR in progress upon the arrival of our CFR crew, Who then took over CPR and basic life support on the casualty, Until the NAS arrived.

Due to the location of the call the BFRRS paging system was then activated at 21:39hrs. A boat crew arrived on scene on standby if the Ambulance crew needed assistance on the removal of the casualty.

When the NAS arrived, BFRRS crews had managed to have the patient stable for the handover to the ambulance crews.

Well done to the member of the public this evening for his quick thinking and brave efforts under instruction of Ambulance Control.

On scene this evening along with The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service were Louth Fire and Rescue, The National Ambulance Service, Drogheda Coast Guard and Drogheda Gardai.
