On Saturday morning members of the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service where requested to assist in the rescue of a dolphin that had washed up on the beach in Termonfeckin after the high tide.
We dispatched a boat and land crew out and it was best decided to transport the dolphin out about 2km to where the water got deeper.
A short time later after releasing the dolphin unfortunately it managed to make it way back onto the land against a second time.
The crew then again transported the dolphin out to sea, stayed with it for awhile then it successfully stayed in the water.
Well done all involved.
