At 19.40 hrs today the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue and Recovery Service received a call from a concerned member of the public reporting a Swan looking very poorly at the De Laucy bridge Scotch Hall in Drogheda.
Members of the rescue team went to see if they could assist the Swan. On arrival crew observed the swan had flown into the bridge and injured its wing.
They removed the swan from the area and brought it to Veterinary Hospital in Drogheda where the Vet discovered it was suffering from a broken wing.
After some treatment the Swan will be taken to a Animal Sanctuary for the night.
We hope the swan makes a speedy recovery as is back with us on the water in Drogheda soon.
